Used tire service means we bring a checked second hand tire in your size and fit it at your location in Austin. We look at tread depth, the DOT date code, the inner liner and any old repairs before a tire goes on your car. It is the budget option when a new tire is not in the plan.

Cheap fix before payday
The tire is done and a new set is not in the budget this week. A sound used tire gets you to work while you plan the replacement.

You hand the car back in a few months and you would rather not put new rubber on it. A used tire with real tread left covers the gap.

The size is hard to find new at short notice. We check the used stock for a match rather than leaving the truck sitting on a jack.
How the visit goes

Call or text the size
Give us the numbers from the sidewall and tell us how many tires you need. We check what we can match in used stock that day.

We confirm, then dispatch
We tell you the tread depth and the age of the tire we found, and the full price, before we leave. Then the van heads to your location.

We inspect and install
We show you the tire before it goes on and mount it on your wheel the same way we do a new tire.
- 04
Torque check and you drive
Lug nuts go to the factory torque figure, the pressure is set, and we walk you through what to watch on that tire.
What it costs
Used tires cost less than new, and we quote the exact price by phone before we leave. The quote includes the trip, and there is no extra charge for nights or weekends.
Questions about this service
Are used tires safe?
A good used tire is safe. A bad one is not, which is why we check every tire before it leaves the van. We look at tread depth, the DOT date stamped on the sidewall, the condition of the inner liner and any previous repairs. If a tire fails any of that, we do not sell it.
How old is too old for a tire?
Rubber hardens with age even when tread is left, and Texas heat speeds that up. We read the DOT date code on the sidewall and tell you the week and year the tire was built, so you can decide. We will not fit a tire we would not run ourselves.
How much tread will I get?
It depends on the tire we find in your size that day. We measure the tread before we come out and tell you the depth on the phone, not after the tire is on the car. If the depth is marginal, we say so and you can choose a new tire instead.
Can I mix a used tire with my new ones?
Often yes, as long as the size and the type match what is already on the car. Try to keep the two tires on the same axle close in tread depth. All wheel drive vehicles are fussier about matching, and we tell you if the pairing looks like a problem.
Do you take my old tire away?
Yes, if you want us to. Say so on the phone and we load the old tire when we finish. Some customers keep a worn tire as a spare, so we leave it with you unless you ask otherwise.
