Mobile flat tire repair means a technician comes to your car in Austin and plugs or patches the puncture where it sits. We dismount the tire, find the hole, and repair it from the inside with a patch plug. Punctures in the tread are repairable. Sidewall and shoulder damage is not.

When you need it

Screw in the tread
You find a screw head in the tread after a run past a construction zone on SH-45. We pull it, inspect the hole from the inside, and patch it.

Slow leak every week
The tire is down ten pounds every few days and you keep topping it up at the gas station. We dismount it to see whether the leak is the puncture, the valve or the bead seat.

Flat in the H-E-B lot
You come out with the groceries and the rear tire is flat on the pavement. We repair it in the parking space so you drive home on your own tire.

We pull the wheel, break the bead, inspect the inside of the tire, ream the channel and set a patch plug over the hole.

Torque, pressure and you drive
We remount the tire, torque the lug nuts to spec and set the pressure before you leave.

We quote the repair by phone before we leave, and the price includes the trip. If the tire turns out not to be repairable, we tell you before we go any further.

Questions about this service
Can a tire with a nail in it be repaired?
Usually yes, as long as the nail went into the tread area and the hole is small. We dismount the tire and inspect the inner liner first, because a tire driven on while flat can be chewed up inside even when the outside looks fine. If it is unsafe, we tell you.
Do you repair sidewall damage?
No. A puncture, cut or bubble in the sidewall or the shoulder cannot be repaired safely, because that part of the tire flexes on every rotation and no patch holds there. We show you the damage and talk through a new or used replacement in the same size.
Is a plug from the outside good enough?
We do not use outside only plugs as a permanent fix. Industry practice is to dismount the tire, inspect the inside, and install a patch plug that seals the inner liner and fills the injury channel. That is what we carry on the van, and it is why the wheel comes off.
Can you repair a run flat tire?
Sometimes. Run flats need extra care, because the stiff sidewall hides damage and driving on one with no air can ruin the structure. We check the manufacturer position and the inside of the tire. If it was run without pressure, we usually recommend replacement.
How long does a flat repair take?
The repair itself is straightforward once the van is on site, and most cars only need one wheel off. We do not promise a clock time on the phone, because traffic, the parking spot and the condition of the tire all change the work. We tell you what we find as we go.
